Mr. Teerakiat Jareonsettasin, MD, Minister of Education presided over the Opening Ceremony of the 4th International Science, Mathematics and Technology Education Conference (ISMTEC 2018) on Thursday, 18 October 2018 at the Ambassador Hotel, Bangkok, co-hosted by IPST, SEAMEO Secretariat, Indiana University, and SMTAT..
Professor Dr. Sukit Limpijumnong, President of The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST), Mr. Prasert Tepanart, Deputy Director of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Secretariat (SEAMEO Secretariat), Mr. Peter Teerapol Boonjarern, Director of Indiana University ASEAN Gateway Office, and Mrs. Duangsamorn Klongsara, Chair of the Science, Mathematics and Technology Teachers Association of Thailand (SMTAT), and Mr. Piyabutr Cholvijarn, President of Kenan Institute Asia (K.I.Asia) were all in attendance.
With the theme “Bringing Computational Thinking to K-12”, ISMTEC 2018 emphasized computational thinking approach to develop an individual’s capability to resolve problems logically through a line-up of speakers as well as over forty dynamic sessions of presentations, hands-on workshops, E-poster presentations and Ed-talks.
ISMTEC 2018 was held from 18 – 20 October 2018 at the Ambassador Hotel, Bangkok. There were over 400 registered participants in the conference including Thai and international participants.
